Meet Sa'sa

This is Sa’sa, pronounced like salsa without the “L”.

She’s cute, in case you couldn’t tell.

She’s almost four weeks old in this picture and we already love her.
Her name means grasshopper in the local language Makushi. :)

She’s just so cute and fluffy and cuddly.

She’s so small, we just had to try it.

So far she’s the calmest pup in the litter and the first one to wag her tail when we’re around.  She’ll sleep anywhere but the cardboard box that we slaved over to make all comfy cozy with our only extra sheet.  Her siblings seem to have no problem tearing apart said sacrificed sheet though.

We found a store in town that sells a few dog toys so we picked her up a tug-of-war rope and some tennis balls.  She likes to throw her little fluff of a belly over the ball and roll on it, and she just started chewing on the rope.

Sa’sa is already learning her name and seems to be picking up on the whole not leaving puddles on the floor.  We’ve caught her taking herself outside to do her business on several occasions.  In the meantime, concrete floors have been a blessing.

We really seem to have gotten lucky.  We had to choose a puppy from the litter before everyone else did so we went with the worst reason to pick a puppy and chose the cutest one from the bunch. It seems to have worked though.

This is her at 4 ½ weeks!  She looks so different from even just a week ago! (she was born Sept 23^rd)

She's tired of our photo taking antics already.

(As of today, she's really almost 7 weeks old - more fun to come!)
